#2 Anything by Scott Kelby

Okay – so I don’t own every book that Scott Kelby has ever written. But if people ask me which books on photography they should buy and I’m short of time my answer is: “Anything by Scott Kelby!”

It’s really hard to find faults in Scott Kelby’s work. His writing style is clear. His techniques are practical and up-to-date. And his books are valued by amateurs and professionals alike.

When I first wanted to learn about Adobe Photoshop, Scott Kelby was the man I turned to. I knew I would get quality information in a practical, well written style. I’m going to cheat here and suggest you look through his Author Page on Amazon and see what catches your eye. What you buy will depend on whether you own any Adobe software and what type of photography interests you.

If you’d like me to make it easier for you, I own these and would be happy to buy them for my photographer friends. Click any of the book covers below and check out the reviews:
Book Cover: The Digital Photography Book by Scott KelbyBook Cover: The 7-Point System for Adobe Photoshop by Scott KelbyBook Cover: Adobe Photoshop CS6 for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby

I particularly like the 7-Point System. It breaks down the process of making the most of a digital image in Photoshop in to seven steps that can be easily remembered and repeated for every image you produce. Following this system takes the trial and error out of processing your images.
